MUSIC: I Hate Mondays #13 – « Playing for change » & Grandpa Elliot

Semaine en musique avec le projet Playing for Change (2009) de Mark Johnson qui a enregistré des musiciens un peu partout dans le monde pour diffuser un message de paix.

A week in music with the project Playing for Change (2009) by Mark Johnson who recorded musicians around the world to spread a message of peace.

À partir de 2005, Mark Johnson, ingénieur du son et réalisateur, décide de parcourir le monde (Afrique du Sud, Brésil, Cuba, Congo, Espagne, États-Unis, France, Ghana, Hollande, Inde, Israël, Italie, Mexique, Népal, Portugal, République Démocratique du Congo, Russie, Venezuela, Zimbabwe) afin d’ajouter des musiciens (Grandpa Elliott, Manu Chao, Vusi Mahlasela, Bono, Sinamuva, Rajhesh Vaidhya, etc.) aux chansons interprétées par feu le guitariste américain Roger Ridley.

Dans ce projet achevé et prolongé à travers La Fondation Playing for Change, émerge notamment l’excellent bluesman de Lousiane : Grandpa Elliott. Pour prolonger l’ambiance suscitée par la projection de la série « Treme » au Festival Séries Mania 2001 à Paris, nous placerons donc notre semaine musicale sous l’égide de la Nouvelle-Orléans. From 2005, Mark Johnson, a sound engineer and producer, decides to travel the world (South Africa, Brazil, Cuba, Congo, Spain, United States, France, Ghana, Holland, India, Israel, Italy, Mexico , Nepal, Portugal, Republic of Congo, Russia, Venezuela, Zimbabwe) to add musicians (Grandpa Elliott, Manu Chao, Vusi Mahlasela, Bono, Sinamuva, Rajhesh Vaidhya, etc..) to songs played by dead American guitarist Roger Ridley.

In this project completed and extended through the Foundation Playing for Change , emerges in particular the excellent bluesman from Louisiana: Grandpa Elliott. To prolong the mood generated by the projection of the serie « Treme » at Festival Séries Mania 2001 in Paris, we will put our music week under the auspices of New Orleans. Enjoy!
