En attendant la sortie à la fin de l’année du long métrage suédois de Ola Simonsson et Johannes Stjärne Nilsson, “Sound of Noise” (2010), retour sur le court-métrage concept à succès qui est à l’origine du film : “Music for One Apartment and Six Drummers” (2001).

Titre du film inspiré du film américain “La Mélodie du bonheur” (“The Sound of Music”, 1965) de Robert Wise, “Music for One Apartment and Six Drummers” (littéralement, “Musique pour un appartement et six percussionnistes”) est un joyeux court-métrage où six jeunes squatteurs percussionnistes vont occuper un appartement pendant l’absence de leur propriétaire. Passant d’une pièce à l’autre (cuisine, salle de bain, chambre à coucher et salon), ils vont utiliser plusieurs objets présents sur place (mixeur, aspirateur, douche, réveil, etc.) pour improviser de la musique.
À la vision de ce court, on ne peut bien sûr pas s’empêcher de penser à la scène de l’usine du film danois de Lars Von Trier, “Dancer in the dark” (2000), où l’imagination de son personnage principal (joué par l’islandaise Björk) faisait déjà de la musique à partir des rythmes bruyants dans lesquels elle baignait.

Dix minutes de pur bonheur donc en attendant les cent deux minutes du long à venir où de l’appartement, le squat musical va s’étendre à la ville. Enjoy!

Title of the film inspired by the American film “The Sound of Music” (1965) by Robert Wise, “Music for One Apartment and Six Drummers” is a joyful short film where six young drummers-squatters will occupy an apartment during the absence of their owner. Moving from one room to another (kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living room), they will use multiple objects on the site (blender, vacuum cleaner, shower, alarm, etc..) to improvise some music.
Watching this short film will of course make us to think about the scene of the factory in Danish film by Lars Von Trier, “Dancer in the Dark” (2000), where the imagination of his main character (played by Icelandic Björk) was making music with all the noisy rythms which was surrounding her.

Ten minutes of pure happiness then before the one hundred and two minutes of the coming soon feature where from the apartment, the musical squat will extend to the city. Enjoy!
